SHINEDOWN Mulling Acoustic Tour For Late 2010
January 30, 2010The Pulse of Radio reports: SHINEDOWN is coming up on its third year of supporting its 2008 album, "The Sound Of Madness", and shows no signs of slowing down, with tours booked well into 2010. But drummer Barry Kerch told The Pulse of Radio that the band will eventually wind this cycle down in the fall, and hopes to do something special to close it out. "Yeah, we wanna do, you know, when this record's finally waning and it's time to get in to do another one, to end this we thought it'd be really nice to do a, you know, maybe a month-long acoustic tour and hit all of our major markets," he said. "So it's definitely on the table. It's not set in stone yet, but that's what we wanna do. Now we've just got to talk the label and management into it."
SHINEDOWN is currently on a tour with PUDDLE OF MUDD and SKILLET that stopped in Atlantic City on Friday night (January 29).
After a festival run in Australia next month and some headlining dates in March, the band will begin a trek with NICKELBACK and BREAKING BENJAMIN in April.
"The Sound Of Madness" has sold more than 900,000 copies and has produced the singles "Devour", "If You Only Knew", the title track and the smash crossover hit "Second Chance".
SHINEDOWN has also contributed a new song called "Her Name Is Alice" to the soundtrack of the upcoming movie "Alice In Wonderland", which also features material from the ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, THE PLAIN WHITE T'S, FRANZ FERDINAND, OWL CITY and more. The soundtrack arrives on March 2, while the movie opens on March 5 in 3D.
